Freshly caught fish for lunch anyone?

The lifestyle of a grey nomad, no stress, no rush, no fuss.

"Ah this looks like a great spot, lets stop here and see whats for lunch."

The sun is shining on yet another perfect day in paradise, the sky is a beautiful blue, the ocean is just sparkling and the fish are biting. Life is just so perfect. Before I bait the lines I will just check in with my Motor Home Travel Diary to update my photo log, check out the attractions, banks, camp grounds close by. I must remember to remind the kids to update their school projects and send off the photos to their friends.

Doesn't this sound fabulous? Traveling around Australia in a Motor Home, stopping when you want to, knowing that the adventure is your choice, being able to keep track of all the important details in your travel diary, choosing to be care free and being able to tailor the lifestyle to what you wish to do.

Remember the movie the Shiralee?

Reality: "Good Morning all it's a lovely sunny day here in Brisbane. For those of you stuck on the gateway traveling southbound there are major delays. A truck has jack-knifed just north of the Toombul Overpass and traffic is at a standstill. Emergency vehicles are in attendance but huge delays are expected. If possible all traffic is asked to take alternate routes. Due to the disruption all majors are experiencing severe congestion. How about a song to cheer you all up"
Sound familiar to you?
How would you like the opportunity to get up whenever you please, read the paper at a very leisurely pace as you wait for your cooked breakfast, whilst looking out over the sparkling blue Pacific Ocean. You biggest concern today is "Do I fish or do I read a book?"
Welcome to the life of what is affectionately known as a Grey Nomad. Just like the Shiralee you can pack up your swag anytime you like to go where ever you fancy, for as long as you are enjoying the view. Instead of the walking and carrying you pack up your lovely diesel motorhome , turn the key and off you go.
There is however a big difference in today's world you don't even have to visit the bank, post office or even worry about where to find the next supermarket. The difference is called "The Computer and the Internet" With our trusty laptops we can check on, check in, and check out what is required. You can even play on and play with this marvellous machine. There are programs that allow you bank, keeping track of all expenditure, planning your next move and even storing all of those lovely "This fish was sooo big" photos that no one would believe unless they saw it.
There are some great websites that could be good to bookmark to make it easy and stress free for your travel .The weather station www.bom.gov.au would be a good one to start with
